The Forum traveled extensively in the first half of 2018, playing shows in cities around the southeast United States in support of their growing collection of music. Their newest release, a July single titled ‘Dive’, was met with a southeast summer tour and a wave of new attention from the underground indie fan base of Florida and online across the United States. The Forum continues to build on this momentum, which caught the eye of Gainesville-based Swamp Records and led to the group signing on as the organization’s newest artist in the autumn of 2018. Drummer Ethan Klohr joined the group at the end of 2018.

The Forum is working on new music this spring, and looks ahead to a busy 2019 where the group hopes to connect with new audiences like never before.

Combining elements of early 2000s alt-rock and modern synth-based indie pop, The Forum brings a new energy to the indie music scene of central Florida.

In early 2016, founding members Michael Higgins, Jacob Farrell, and Nick Wheeler came together after discovering similar music tastes from one another’s Craigslist ads. The college students began meeting at their Gainesville apartments as they formed an initial sound that they completed with the release of their debut EP Rain/Shade in October 2016. The group continued to pursue an identity, playing around the college town with melodic guitar and dance rhythms as they worked toward writing new material for the new year. Their sophomore EP Illuminate was released in November of 2017, capping off a year of writing and looking toward a future of touring.
